PF on a GE dishwasher reports a power failure; choose the cycle and options and press Start.
Model compatibility: GE reuses codes across series and model years, so PF may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
A power failure has occurred.
PF indicates there has been a power failure to the dishwasher. GE’s support list says to select the cycle and options you want, press the Start pad, and the dishwasher will work normally.
Older series: PF RESET
An older owner’s manual (49-5790) for the GSD4410/4420/4430/4910/4920/4930/4940 series shows PF RESET on its display. It says electrical power has been interrupted but is now back on. If the dishwasher was running when the power failed:
Press the RESET pad and wait approximately 30 seconds.
Unlatch and open the door.
Then check the detergent cup. If it is open and empty and the NORMAL, POTS PANS or CHINA CRYSTAL cycle was set, close the door and run a RINSE HOLD cycle. Once RINSE HOLD ends, add detergent and set the wash cycle you want. If the cup is closed with one of those cycles set, just reset for the wash cycle you want. If RINSE HOLD was set, reset for RINSE HOLD. When the dishwasher was not in use during the power failure, use it as usual.

PrS concerns the pressure sensor, and FTD is a drain failure. After an outage, C4 can also appear when the machine filled twice.
Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, gas, water lines, refrigerant or sealed systems. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
